THE DESIGNER
Renata Smelan was born and raised in Brazil, where her love for fashion began in her family’s t-shirt factory. Surrounded by fabrics and creativity, she grew up with a natural passion for design.
In 2017, she moved to Australia with her partner and studied Fashion Design and Technology at RMIT. After graduating, Renata worked with several well-known fashion brands, but she always dreamed of creating something more personal something that truly reflected her values and vision.
That dream became reality in 2023, when she founded Smelan. Her goal is simple: to create timeless pieces that women can feel comfortable wearing every day. Her designs are versatile, effortless, and elegant, perfect for everything from casual outings to special occasions. Most of Renata’s pieces are made from natural fibres, chosen for their soft feel on the skin and their lower impact on the environment.
Smelan is about more than fashion it’s about giving back. A portion of Smelan’s profits is donated to support children in need, creating a brand that not only empowers women but also makes a positive difference in the world.
